Gianni Versace was born in December 1946 in Reggio di Calabria, Italy. As a childhood Gianni was taught how to cut and make clothing from his mother who owned a small tailor shop. At the age of 25 Gianni designed his first clothing pret-a-porter collections for Genny, Complice and Callaghan. In 1978 Gianni opened a Versace boutique in Milan’s Via della Spiga. In the 1980’s Gianni’s trademark became popular around the world. In 1985 Versace added more to his clothing that soon it became popular amongst the younger crowd. Gianni Versace got brutally murdered by a serial killer in 1997 in front of his mansion in Miami.


Today there are Versace: dresses, shoes, boots, accessories, jewelleries, bag, belt, pants, suits, winter attire, perfume, suits for both men and woman and, Versace trademark tea cup, and tea pots.

Today Versace trademark is very popular for its artistic and sassy clothing. It has become another iconic symbol in the fashion industry. Their line of products is beyond classy and casual if wanted. Their hand made apparel attracts many fashion enthusiasts to wear it with a sign of pride as its considered comfortable fashion. Versace is another one of those designers with a celebrity face to it. Many celebrities and high end models promote Versace as this speaks volume of the reputation Versace has gained and maintained in quality.

Valentino Garavani was born in northern Italy in 1932. He was interested in fashion from childhood. Valentino was offered apprenticeships and training from family and other designers. After getting fired from a luxe dressmaker in Paris for being carefree and holidaying too long, Valentino began to design his own clothing under his own name. In 1959, he opened his first shop in Rome’s Via Veneto. Valentino was known for his dramatic and femininity gowns that woman’s enjoyed to wear which became his signature designs. Valentino Garavani was awarded the Legion d’Honneur in 2006 from France’s President Chirac.


Valentino Garavani’s sense of style is very unique and delicate. Valentino shows his art through his fashion shows and his designers. Valentino’s clothing, dresses, purses, accessories, jewelleries, and shoes are very artistic and tends to stand out more than any other clothing because it’s a design to die for. In a crowd of fashion, Valentino’s work stands out the most out of all the designers.

Giorgio Armani was born in 1936 in Piacenza, Italy. In 1957 he worked as a photographer at a Milan department store before getting a promotion in a style office, where he started to import products from India, Japan and the USA. In 1974 Armani owned his own woman clothing collection after working for a renowned fashion house Nino Cerruti. Giorgio Armani was famous for his leather bomber jackets for every day wear. In 1980, the Armani “power suit” for men and woman was symbolized in an era of international economic boom. In 1988 Armani was the first fashion designer who convinced the celebrities to wear his designs. He also got the celebrities to wear his design at the Academy Awards.


Today Giorgio Armani is known for his silky classic clothing and its specification for business as well as every-day-wear. Armani trademark got a lot to offer today in the fashion industry and the market. Yves Henri-Donat Mathieu-Saint Laurent was born in August 1, 1935 in Oran, Algeria. At the age of 18 after winning third price in an International Wool Secretariat, Yves went to Paris, France. In Paris he was introduced to designer Christian Dior, by the editor of French Vogue Michel De Brunoff. After the death of Christian Dior In 1957 Yves Laurent became Dior’s Houte Couture designer. At the age of 21, Yves launched a spring collection for Dior where he got awarded as the head designer for the House of Dior. In 1962 after a tremendous breakdown, and leaving the House of Dior, Yves started his own label called YSL. In 1966 he launched a boutique for woman’s called The Rive Gauche, followed by men’s boutique in 1970. In 1971 Yves launched his first men’s fragrance “Pour Homme” with him posting nude on the cover. In 1983 Yves became the first designer in the fashion industry to give a solo exhibit at a Metropolitan Museum of Art. In 1998 Yves was awarded a lifetime achievement award from the council of fashion designers of America. Sadly in June 2008 Yves died from brain cancer at the age of 71 in Paris.


Today Yves Saint Laurent is ranking number 2 in the fashion industry. There’s more in the market today than just perfume and YSL clothing. There’s YSL makeup, perfume, shoes, bags, accessories, clothing, jewellery, and suits for both men and women. Yves made an impact on the fashion industry through his bold statements of art in design and presentation. One of Yve’s noted accomplishment was being asked by Farah Diba to design her wedding dress when she was marrying the Shah (King) of Iran.

Gabriel “Coco” Chanel Top #1


 Gabriel Chanel was born in August 1883. She was the first Native French who brought out corsets and uncomfortable garments in the marketing industry for woman to wear. She was a true visionary and a rebel who loved to wear clothes that comforted her style and body. “Coco” Chanel brought out the first cardigan which was the first originator of woman’s sportswear; her design of clothes gave women’s style of clothing the freedom and self-expression without the sacrifice of modesty. In 1920 her signature fragrance “the incredibly ironic Chanel No5” was launched which still remains popular till this day. In 1925 “Chanel suits” was launched. Coco Chanel died in Paris at the Ritz Hotel in 1971, instead Karl Lagerfield has been the designer of Chanel ever since.
